‘Miles’ means  Soldier

“On earth, still as pilgrims in a strange land, tracing in trial and in oppression the paths He trod, we are made one with His sufferings like the body is one with the Head, suffering with Him, that with Him we may be glorified.” Lumen Gentium  #7

Each day we face the Lord and ourselves.  Through the pains and joys, we may notice power in Him and weakness in ourselves. This is a call to the battle for our salvation.

One way to take advantage of both easy and tough times in our spiritual lives is a daily 10 minute summary with the Lord of what happened during the day. We give thanks for each gift and each grace. Then we review the day with the Lord and Mary. We see the hours or conversations, or activities, the easy times and the hard times – asking the Lord what He wants me to understand from them. How does He want me to grow more like Him through the lessons of this day?

After some silent  moments to let Him communicate, we respond with what we will do for Him tomorrow because of his generosity with us today. We also apologize for the defects that come to mind at this time. We give this to the Immaculate Heart. And we become stronger and more soldiers for the spiritual challenges of tomorrow.
