In 2017 the Awka, Nigeria men’s community started the Needy Women and Children’s Apostolate. Joseph Igboekwene, MJ, explains, “Most of the women and children we help live in the local area and we are helping them because they are having difficulties with nowhere else to turn.”
“For the 2021/2022 school year we paid the school expenses for two students in college and for 19 children in the primary grades. One 10-year-old boy, Richard, is very intelligent, but he had been withdrawn from school because he developed Type 1 diabetes and his mother couldn’t afford both his medicine and education costs on top of general living expenses for his siblings. When Richard’s headmistress informed me about his situation, I included him among the children we are helping so he would be able to continue his education.”
Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our Needy Women and Children’s apostolate in Nigeria. Your sacrifice of a monthly pledge or a one-time gift truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily with gratitude because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
