Dear Friend in Christ,

“Six-year old Petro came to us from the state orphanage a few months ago,” Ruslan, Director of our Bortniky Boys’ Home, tells us. “Last week his mentally ill mother came for a visit and took Petro for a walk. It turned out to be a really long walk to take him away. I went out looking and found them along the road. Petro’s mother was dragging him while yelling and swearing at him. When Petro saw me he tried to come to me. He was shaking from the ordeal and said, ‘Ruslan, please, I want to be with you at Bortniky.’ So back we went.

“Yesterday I took the younger ones, including Petro, to the lake where they were so happy and carefree as they played and skipped stones along the water. Some tears of joy welled up in my eyes as I thanked God for Bortniky, for this haven where our kids are safe, secure and have no worries.

“We have 32 kids at Bortniky, ranging in age from six to eighteen. Thanks to our benefactors, we continue to provide these traumatized boys with a real home and healing atmosphere.”

Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our Bortniky Boys’ Home in Ukraine. Your sacrifice of a large gift, a monthly pledge or whatever you can afford, truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily at Mass and in our holy hours and rosaries because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
