Dear Friend in Christ,
“Trafficking happens every day; every two minutes someone buys a child for sex … and it happens here.” (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation)
What can we do in the face of such a horror as human trafficking? “One way to help that is within the reach of the Catholic faithful is to have Masses offered for an end to human trafficking and abortion,” says Maire, MJ, Executive Director of the Star of the Sea non-profit based in Chicago. “Star of the Sea,” she says, “offers education, resources, and calls to action as an S.O.S. for the most exploited members of society, especially the victims of human trafficking. One simple means of creating awareness and amassing spiritual aid for the victims and for the conversion of their abusers is having Masses offered regularly for an end to human trafficking and abortion, which we do at our local parish here in Chicago. Most people who read the bulletin will notice that Mass intention. Imagine it appearing regularly in church bulletins across the country.” Maire continues, “To help build your own awareness, visit us at www.SOSfortheNeedy.org.”
Your help is needed to continue our offshoot Star of the Sea program. Please help Miles Jesu today! Your sacrifice of a large gift or pledge of $100-a-month, $50-a-month, $25-a-month, or whatever your means allow, truly makes all the difference. Just send your tax-deductible donation in the enclosed envelope along with your prayer petitions. In Miles Jesu we take our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones during our daily Mass, our holy hours and rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude, since the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon the Providence of God through people like you.
