Dear Friend in Christ,

Katarina (Katka), MJ, a native of Slovakia, is truly grateful for the “Theology of Consecrated Life” courses she recently took in Rome. It didn’t take much time for Katka to learn Italian and dive into the two-year program run by the Claretians at the Lateran University. “This education was very, very good,” Katka tells us.

It has been so helpful for me and Geraldine here in our community in Rome. In my class there were 130 students, mostly nuns and priests from different religious orders. Some of them were formation directors, some were superiors, and others were regular community members. We studied Consecrated Life (CL) in the New Testament, Formation and CL, Spirituality of CL, Evangelical Counsels of CL, and New Forms of CL, among other things.”

Katka prepared a 60-page paper, which was required to graduate, on the New Forms of Consecrated Life. Her focus was particularly on the characteristics of ecclesial families of consecrated life, such as Miles Jesu, in which there are consecrated men and women, laity and priests, who fully profess the evangelical counsels and live them in the mix of modern society. “As a result of these studies, I appreciate and understand God’s call to me to the consecrated life all the more,” says Katka with a broad smile across her face. She graduated with the highest grades throughout the program.

Your help is needed to support the Miles Jesu Education Fund. Your sacrifice of a large gift or a monthly pledge truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu, we take all our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones in our daily Mass, holy hours and rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude because the Miles Jesu Education Fund depends upon the Providence of God through people like you.

Yours in Jesus through Mary
