Dear Friend in Christ,
“A few months ago, around midnight, a young woman was writhing in pain, hemorrhaging and vomiting blood,” Fr. Thomas, at our Boys’ Home in Sirsi, India, reports. “Her neighbor came to us for help. The woman was in labor, just lying there on the mud floor, waiting, waiting beyond hope for her husband to come and take her to the hospital. But why should he come? He was staying with another woman in the village.
“When the call came, we rolled out of a deep sleep and went into emergency-service mode. We sped her to the hospital which required her husband’s signature for her to be admitted. The staff wondered why we should be so bothered for her anyway?
Her agony was only increasing, her moans pitiable. So in lieu of the husband’s signature, it was our Ronald who signed the admittance papers, taking full responsibility for the mother and child. The two-pound baby had to be delivered by caesarian, and the mother had to be put on life support. Ronald agreed to pay whatever would be the cost to save both mother and child.
“This tale is told in thanksgiving to God and to you for saving their lives. Thanks to you, our benefactors, for your prayers and for your gifts which provide the resources for works such as these.”
Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our work in Sirsi, India. Your sacrifice of a large gift, a monthly pledge or whatever you can do, truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily at Mass and in our holy hours and rosaries because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
