Dear Friend in Christ,

“Our Soup Kitchen mission is expanding,” reports Martina, MJ, co-director of the Miles Jesu charitable outreach in L’Viv, Ukraine. “Last December we started helping families with pre-prepared boxes of foodstuffs such as flour, sugar, salt, oil, etc.; a box to each family according to their immediate needs.” To start we are registering around five families, and also a grandma who lives alone and cannot walk to the store. There is a refugee taxi driver from eastern Ukraine whom we sponsor to bring the boxes of food to the different homes.”

“Meanwhile,” Martina continues, “back at the Soup Kitchen we feed some 20-30 families each day and 50-60 homeless people. Our Soup Kitchen was the first one to be established in L’Viv back in the mid-90’s and remains the longest-open Soup Kitchen in the city.”

Martina is a certified Nutritionist and hails from Slovakia. “I like this work,” she says, “because God uses us to change something for the better in the lives of these people. First of all, to eat; and secondly, to provide them with some stability because they know they can come to our Soup Kitchen every day. They can come and be sure that someone will welcome them and give them a good meal each time.”

Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our Soup Kitchen in L’Viv, Ukraine. Your sacrifice of a large gift, a monthly pledge or whatever you can give, truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily at Mass and in our holy hours and rosaries because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
