Dear Friend in Christ,

“Our Girls’ Home in Birky, Ukraine, received two children the other day,” Olia, MJ, reported. “One is just over a year old, and the other a little over two years old. Their mother is in the hospital, and so this may be a temporary stay of a month or so. We are in communication with the Lviv officials about taking in more children who are in in need, on a temporary or more permanent basis. Some with their mothers, as we have at present, or others left orphaned.”

“In addition to our Girls’ Home, we continue to run our Soup Kitchen in Lviv for our regular clients and now so many more refugees coming from the war-torn areas of the east and south. We also take supplies and medicines to refugee centers and a nearby hospital. Everyone is helping each other in the ways that they can. This is so beautiful to see amidst the horrific reality of war.”

“The other day, Lviv was hit with missiles. It was very loud, and black smoke was visible everywhere. Apparently seven people were killed and more injured. It is mid-April at the time of this report. We pray for peace. We beg God and the Blessed Mother for peace at the Divine Liturgy each day.”
