Dear Friend in Christ,
Several weeks after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, when the western city of Lviv became a target for missile attacks, Oleg decided to send his wife and their two teenage boys to Poland. Oleg had to stay behind because Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 have not been allowed to leave Ukraine in case they would be needed on the front.
Maria, MJ, received Oleg’s family into the Miles Jesu home in Lublin, which has been serving as a refugee center since March. Oleg’s wife, Nadia, and their two boys came (along with their beloved cat!). Maria made them feel so welcome, making sure they had privacy, warm bedding, and good meals; she also helped Nadia find temporary cleaning jobs in the neighborhood. The boys were made to feel at home with pizza-making evenings and other fun youth-oriented activities.
Oleg is incredibly thankful for the love shown to his family. A friend of Miles Jesu’s in Lublin offered an apartment she had where Oleg’s family could stay. So, after six weeks with Miles Jesu, Nadia and the boys moved into the apartment. Maria and others helped find basic furniture for them and other household items. They can live as a family now, with the boys attending a local Polish school, for as long as may be needed until one day they can be reunited with their husband / father Oleg.
Miles Jesu in Poland continues to reach out to the suffering Ukrainian refugees who often bring only a small bag of basic items with them. Please support our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our Ukraine Relief mission in Birky (Ukraine) and Lublin (Poland). Your sacrifice of a monthly pledge or a one-time gift truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray daily for our benefactors with gratitude because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
