Dear Friend in Christ,
“Our Soup Kitchen in L’viv, Ukraine, continues to operate three days a week, providing meals to people in need,” reports Zoriana, MJ, director of the Miles Jesu Soup Kitchen. “Warm food is more necessary than ever in the cold season. Every time, about 50 people come to our dining room. Some of them have been coming to us for years, some have started coming recently, some come from time to time (trying to fend for themselves).”
“Every day we cook two different soups so that our visitors have a variety of food. In total, we cook ten kinds of soup and eight kinds of milk soup, as well as different kinds of tea, compote, and sometimes coffee or cappuccino. On Church holidays we also serve fruit, sweets, and cookies. The guests are as excited as children because they rarely get these treats.”
“Most of our visitors take their food with them but they do have the option to eat in Soup Kitchen. Some people take advantage of that opportunity and eat in our premises. We usually cook extra food so that they have food to last another day or two.”
“Visitors of our Soup Kitchen express their gratitude to us every day for the food they receive. We thank all the benefactors who support us in this apostolate and we thank God for the opportunity to do good for others.”
Your help is needed to continue our work in Ukraine. Please help Miles Jesu today! Your sacrificial gift of whatever your means allows, truly makes all the difference. Just send your tax-deductible donation in the enclosed envelope along with your prayer petitions.
In Miles Jesu we take our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones during our daily Mass, our holy hours and rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude, since the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon the Providence of God through people like you
