MANY SAY:
“Human populations sprang up independently in different regions of the earth.” “Man came from monkeys,” etc.
BUT, THE CHURCH TEACHES:
The first man and woman were Adam and Eve, the first parents of the whole human race. Adam’s body was formed from the earth. But his soul was immediately created out of nothing by the almighty power of God. From the very beginning, starting with Adam and Eve, God has created every human soul out of nothing. Only man’s body is derived from his parents as collaborators in God’s creative act.
We do not inherit our soul from our parents; rather, it is created directly by God at the same moment that we receive life, at conception. Man’s soul is not produced from some other soul or matter. There is no possible ‘evolution’ of the soul, for it is a spiritual substance, not subject to the laws of physical nature. It is spiritual and simple. It did not exist before the person lived. Man’s life is due to his soul. As soon as the soul leaves the body, earthly life ceases.
Every human being is special and dear to God and is created for eternal happiness.
