In 2017 the Miles Jesu men’s community in Awka, Nigeria, started the Women and Children’s Apostolate to help poor women and children who are having difficulties and have nowhere else to turn.
Joseph, MJ, tells us, “At present, we are providing financial assistance for school fees, textbooks, writing materials and school uniforms for fifteen children. Without this help, they would not be able to continue their education because their families, who have great difficulty even covering daily living expenses, do not have the extra money for school expenses.
We also help with medical expenses when any of them get sick. These children are very intelligent and achieve some of the best grades in their classes. Because of this, we are trying to secure their future and help them become positive influences in their adulthood on the society and world at large.”
