Dear Friend in Christ,
“For the last few years, the Miles Jesu men’s community in Phoenix has been hosting a weekend each month for the Challenge Youth Group,” reports Joseph Sullivan, MJ. “It begins with street evangelization Friday evening at the Phoenix Art Walk. Afterwards, we eat pizza together and discuss our experiences spreading the Good News. We start the day on Saturday with prayers, meditation, Mass, and the opportunity for Confession. Then we have an activity that could be anything from sports, river-tubing, snow-park excursions, visiting holy sites, to mountain hiking. We also have spiritual learning and an organizational meeting to prepare for the next Challenge Retreat. Saturday afternoon may include an opportunity to do charity work, like volunteering at Andre House to serve dinner for the needy and homeless, or visiting and entertaining the elderly at the hospice. The day concludes with all-night Adoration followed by Holy Mass on Sunday morning. Overall, it’s a good time and experience. But, most of all, it is a great way for the youth to build healthy friendships, encourage each other, grow in the Faith, and learn how to live a virtuous life following Christ and bringing others to Him. Mary, Our Mother, has a key role in our Challenge Reunion group: she loves us as her sons, covers us under her mantle, and leads us to her Son.”
Your help is needed to continue our work with the youth in Phoenix. Please help the Miles Jesu Missions today! Your tax-deductible gift or pledge makes all the difference! In Miles Jesu we take our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones each day at Mass and in our rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude, since the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s Providence through people
like you.
