Dear Friend in Christ,
“The new addition to our family in India is Gauri and her male calf, Kalya (Blacky),” Fr. Thomas, MJ, tells us from our ‘Udaya Nakshatra’ (Morning Star) Boys’ Home in Sirsi. “She provides us with 2.5 gallons of fresh milk per day, not to mention all of the fertilizer she and her calf are producing for our garden which furnishes over 30% of the veggies we use for our meals. Kalya will never give us a drop of milk, so we are fattening him up to be sold. Pictured with our new cow is Rohit who is milking, and the backup milkers Prince on the left, and Praveen.
“Praveen will be leaving us next month after eight years at ‘Udaya Nakshatra’. He has just graduated from university and plans to get training in the banking field. Praveen has been a good leader and has generously tutored many of the boys.
“When school reopens in June, we will have 32 boys and teens at the home, with ages ranging from seven to eighteen. They are all either orphans or from extremely impoverished or troubled families.”
Your help is needed to continue our work in India. Please help the Miles Jesu Missions today! Your sacrifice of a large gift or pledge of $100-a-month, $50-a-month, $25-a-month, or whatever your means allow, truly makes all the difference.
Just make a tax-deductible donation. In Miles Jesu we take our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones during our daily Mass, our holy hours and rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude, since the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon the Providence of God through people like you.
