Dear Friend in Christ,
“During the day our home in Mumbai opens its doors to our “little angels” slum children,” Fr. Thomas, MJ, tells us, “and at night to others seeking rest for their souls, seeking Christ. On Saturday evenings there is a special gathering of those who love the Lord but for prudential reasons, sometimes life preserving, are not baptized. Theirs is a baptism of desire. “…We must hold that the Holy Spirit offers to all the possibility of being made partakers, in a way known to God…” (Gaudium et Spes, 22).
“One member of our prayer group is Deepaka. For a livelihood she used to carry idols upon her head. People would make offerings to the idols and give her money. Several years ago her asthma became so acute she became desperate. Deepaka says, ‘None of the gods ever helped me. It was Jesus who heard me crying, and He was the one who healed me.’ Since then she has faithfully come to our prayer meeting and even goes to daily Mass, although she does not receive Communion. Her family, some of whom are involved in sorcery, is opposed to her new-found faith, and they strongly harass her. Deepaka responds peacefully to them, for as she says, ‘It is then that I am most strongly united to the Lord and say with Him, Father, forgive them…’
“Many other physical and spiritual ‘miracles’ are taking place among the members of our prayer group and their families. Many thanks to our benefactors who make this possible.”
Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our “Little Angels” House in Mumbai, India. Your sacrifice of a large gift, a monthly pledge or whatever you can afford, truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily at Mass and in our holy hours and rosaries because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
