Miles Jesu’s communities in western Ukraine are composed of members of the Greek Catholic Ukrainian rite, a rite of the Roman Catholic Church whose rituals and discipline find roots in the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and other influences of the East.

In the city of Birky, Miles Jesu operates a home for orphaned or semi-orphaned girls. Girls as young as 7 are accepted into the home. They come from difficult home situations wherein they may be orphaned or their parents may be unable to care for them due to incarceration, addictions or extreme poverty. Members of the Miles Jesu women’s community, with the assistance of seven hired professionals, provide the girls with a stable home environment, education, medical care, meals, and entertainment.

The home was established in 2004 with four girls. At present, there are 14 girls in the home and several who visit on weekends and holidays for help with studies and other skills.

Donations from generous sponsors make this home possible. Please consider supporting us with a donation of any amount.
