Our Little Angels Outreach dates its origins back to the early 1990’s. At that time we started giving breakfast to a group of „raggies” (ragpickers) who would filter through heaps of vermin-filled rubbish in search of „valuables. Besides the sandwiches, bananas and milk they wanted more: to learn English so that they could get jobs and be lifted up from the filth of their lowly status. Even today some of those girls who are now women dressed in clean saris come back to our home to see us and thank us for the respect that was given them.
Today the program serves the children of the slums whose parents cannot give them the care they need due to their desperate situations in life. Between 20-40 come daily to the nutrition program; and some come for special tutoring. We also regularly have medical camps and celebrate the feasts with the kids.
