Giving to the Poor and Receiving Much

Dear Friend in Christ,

“This past week, as usual, we went to distribute food to the poor,” Angelica, MJ, a member of the Miles Jesu Women’s Community in Rome tells us. “When we give them food, you can see how grateful they are and the joy on their faces. There are two people who almost always jump for joy when when they see us. Their names are Angela and Mario. They are a mother and son who have been living on the streets since moving to Italy. Originally from Romania, they moved to Italy seeking aid from the Italian government. The waiting list is long and they have been waiting for this aid for years, but I must say they are very cheerful people. When we give them food, they are always grateful and happy. As a way of showing their gratitude, they sometimes like to give us a small gift for what we do for them. Seeing these things makes us realize how generous people are, even those who have almost nothing but who give anyway from the little they have. We are very grateful for all those who help us sustain this apostolate. THANK YOU!”
