A Mission of Hope

Fr. Chris Foeckler, MJ, was invited to offer a parish mission at Sacred Heart Parish in Bowie, Maryland, July 12-16, 2025. The parish is designated a Jubilee Church by the Archdiocese of Washington and the pastor – Fr. Michael Russo – welcomed the chosen theme – “Hope that doesn’t disappoint!” – since it is the central theme of the Jubilee Year. Many parishioners, including Fr. Foeckler’s sister, Mary, and other relatives enjoyed the mission’s talks which were offered as meditations instead of sermons with the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the main altar and the preacher in the back pew with a microphone. Fr. Foeckler was also able to make an appeal for the Chapel Project in Phoenix to which the parish responded generously. Thanks and prayers going back to the Sacred Heart Church in Bowie, Maryland.
