Dear Friend in Christ,
“Russia cut off the gas in June, but Ukrainian production will suffice for the Summer months,” reports Andriy Protsiv, MJ, from L’Viv. “It’s the winter months that will be problematic, as under these conditions Ukraine will have only half of what’s needed during the cold weather. In Kiev the hot water has been turned off to save for winter. All prices are up; only the salaries go down, and partly because of a military tax that has recently been placed on salaries.
“Ruslan Markiv, MJ, the Director of our Boys’ Home at Bortniky, was recently called for military duty, being that he is under 40 years of age. It was a scare for us, but thanks be to God, the military officials gave him dismissal in consideration of his position at the Boys’ Home where he is in charge of 26 orphaned or otherwise-homeless boys.
“Starting in September three or four of the older boys, around 16 years of age, will be sent to a technical school in L’Viv which will provide room and board and training in trade-skills. We are doing our best for the kids under tough and uncertain circumstances.”
Please help our Miles Jesu Missions today, such as our Boys’ Home in Bortniky, Ukraine. Your sacrifice of a large gift, a monthly pledge or whatever you can afford, truly makes all the difference. In Miles Jesu we pray for our benefactors daily at Mass and in our holy hours and rosaries because the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon God’s help through people like you.
