Feeding the Hungry

Dear Friend in Christ,

Our Soup Kitchen in L’Viv, Ukraine, which began 20 years ago, continues to provide healthy, hearty meals to more than 150 people every day. Thanks to our benefactors, we have been able to prepare a room where our visitors can sit down comfortably at a table to eat their hot meals, instead of sitting on a bench as they did before. Many of our hungry guests come to collect multiple portions to take home to their family members, especially elderly relatives. And then there’s so very many of our guests who are not only hungry, but homeless as well, each one with his or her personal history and problems. Yet so many of them are grateful people who give back by volunteering at our Soup Kitchen—they might take out the trash, sweep the walkway, shovel snow, or carry groceries in from our truck. It costs around $1,950 to feed our Soup Kitchen visitors each month.
