Dear Friend in Christ,

“January was very cold for us,” Zoriana, MJ, director of the Miles Jesu Soup Kitchen, tells us. “Sometimes the thermometers dropped to -20º C and even lower. The cold was felt even more acutely when our cities and villages had no electricity and heating for many hours a day due to the destroyed thermal power plants. At such a time, hot food is very much appreciated.”

“Fortunately, even when there was no electricity, we had cold water, gas, and groceries. So, by the light of flashlights, we could cook food for the people who came to us. Most of them were people of retirement age, the rest were people with disabilities.”

“We thank God that in this difficult time for everyone, we have the opportunity to work and bring people a little joy and warmth. We thank God, too, for caring people who share what they have, donating money and bringing food so that we can prepare a warm meal for those in need. Thank you, our dear benefactors. May the Lord reward you generously!”

Your help is needed to continue our work in Ukraine. Please help Miles Jesu today! Your sacrificial gift of whatever your means allows, truly makes all the difference. Just send your tax-deductible donation in the enclosed envelope along with your prayer petitions. In Miles Jesu we take our benefactors seriously and pray for you and your loved ones during our daily Mass, our holy hours and rosaries. This is our debt of gratitude, since the Miles Jesu Missions depend upon the Providence of God through people like you.
