Dear Friend in Christ,
Marketa, MJ, is studying at the Jesuit Theological University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and the education she is receiving is pretty good. “Our professor of Pastoral Theology told us, ‘Today there is a great need for stability because society is so fluid and modern culture militates against the family. It is all the more important, then, to put our security in God and to know the Teachings of the Church, so we don’t fall into doubts and confusion, but rather have a deep knowledge that we can do everything in Him, with Him, for Him.’
“What else is being taught?” Marketa continues, “to support the family and to have a joyful understanding of the Sacrament of Marriage; to accept children as they come and as they are; to accept the crosses of life and carry our cross in union with Jesus Christ; to do what is for God’s glory and for the good of our fellow man; and to live daily life with an awareness to distinguish good from evil and finding creative and charitable ways to deal with problems.”
Marketa is grateful for her studies which also include Social Work, Bioethics, Demographics, Statistics, Dogmatic Theology and Canon Law. “I value these studies because they help open my eyes to real needs and give me a more objective view of the world we are living in today.”
