Danger! War in Europe! Recently the victory of Europe over Nazism was celebrated in Moscow’s Red Square. The Presidents of post-communistic countries, Europe, and the USA were gathered for this event. Among things that were said in honor of this 60 year anniversary was the number of deaths during the Second World War. From 1939-1945 40 million civilians and soldiers were killed in battle, prison camps, and by disease and starvation. Certainly, every war claims many lives, but this one was the most devastating for Europe. Now there is also a war going on in Europe. But this time it is a hidden war, which is why it is a lot more destructive and dangerous than any other war that has happened in Europe. Even Newsweek, in the Summer of 2004, published a feature article on how Europe is underpopulated. Most European countries have birthrates that cannot even replace the population. Many European governments are even admitting there is a problem because it is too big to be hidden anymore. They are even offering financial benefits to mothers. But at the same time they are still keeping abortion, divorce, and contraception legal, and tearing up more and more the Christian roots of Europe. Precisely for this reason Very Rev. Fr. Alphonsus Maria Duran, M.J. wrote the Millennium Manifesto pamphlet which addresses this problem, giving a new hope to a dying Europe: “Once again as always, following the teachings of Jesus Christ, Europe will be saved in the new Millennium”.
